Routine Watermain Flushing Begins Tuesday, April 22, 2025

Peterborough, ON – The City of Peterborough will be performing routine flushing of watermains in various areas of the City beginning Tuesday, April 22, 2025 through Friday, June 27, 2025.

Flushing will take place between 7:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. Routine watermain flushing is preventive maintenance that removes scale and sediment build up, helping to maintain water quality in the water distribution system.

Water may become iron-coloured or cloudy for a brief period of time. If this occurs residents should run the cold water tap closest to the source for 20 to 30 minutes until the water is clear.
