Collecting Memories: Objects that Define Us

On display until June 15, 2025

The objects we collect hold the power to tell our stories. Whether they mark significant life events, reflect relationships, or simply bring joy, these treasured items become part of our personal histories. What do your collections say about you?

We invite you to step into Collecting Memories: Objects that Define Us, an exhibit created by Fleming College Museum Management and Curatorship students. Through a carefully curated selection of artifacts from the Peterborough Museum & Archives’ collection, this exhibit explores the emotional and historical connections we form with objects over time.

Each item on display has been kept, treasured, and preserved, offering a glimpse into the past and the lives of those who once owned them. From sentimental keepsakes to everyday tools that shaped industries and communities, these objects serve as windows into personal and collective histories.

Visitors are encouraged to reflect on the significance of their own collections—what we choose to keep, why we hold onto certain things, and how objects connect us to moments, people, and places.

Admission: By donation.

Join us in discovering the stories behind the artifacts and celebrating the memories that define us.
