Housing and Shelter

Peterborough Social Services helps people with housing needs, including people who are experiencing homelessness.

The City of Peterborough is responsible for housing and homelessness in the City and County of Peterborough.

The Housing and Homelessness Plan includes targets to build more housing people can afford and to help people find and keep housing.

Modular Bridge Housing community

As part of our enhanced homelessness services plan, a Modular Bridge Housing community includes 50 individual units on a City property on Wolfe Street to provide another housing option for people experiencing homelessness.

The initiative includes 24/7 support on site and a service hub where community partner agencies can connect with and provide services to the individuals living in the Modular Bridge Housing community.

City representatives and community partner agencies participated in a Built for Zero meeting to talk about the Modular Bridge Housing Community, how the project was planned and implemented, along with early impressions after the first few months of operating.
